The precautionary principle regarding the possible risks of nanotechnology and its derivatives

Abstract

In this text, it is exposed what the precautionary principle is, as well as the discussion about why to use it in the case of the regulation and management of nanotechnology products. Likewise, the results of the review of texts, mainly academic and official, that discuss the topic of the precautionary principle around nanotechnology are exposed. After a quantitative and qualitative analysis of 84 texts, the main topics of discussion, years of publication, relevance of the texts for the discussion, as well as the conclusions regarding the congruence or not of using the precautionary principle with respect to nanotechnology are presented.
